ARKA Information: Dmitry Pankin: Global integration processes are a reason for the EEU countries to not remain in isolation
Dmitry Pankin, Chairman of the Management Board at Eurasian Development Bank, stated at the
10th International Conference on Economic Integration that the global active integration processes do
not make it possible for the EEU countries to stay in isolation. "The specifics of the current global
developments are to avoid isolation and form effective integration unions," the head of the Bank said.
He emphasised the importance of communications initiated by EDB and pointed out that they had
become an effective instrument for information exchange between financial institutions, authorities and
businesses from the Bank's member states. Discussions and recommendations made at EDB conferences
help to devise new approaches to the Bank's investment policies. The 10th International Conference on
Eurasian Economic Integration is taking place in Moscow today. The participants in the conference are
heads of the Eurasian Economic Commission, ministries and authorities, national companies, academia,
businesses and experts from the Bank's member states. The conference is intended to discuss
cooperation in key sectors, foreign exchange and financial integration, and the strengthening of further
interstate communications within the Eurasian Economic Union. The conference is planned to include a
plenary session and dialogue floors on the pressing issues of infrastructure development, the formation
of a single financial market and mechanisms, and the development of potential in transboundary
electricity trade.
