Almaty, 25 February: The Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) signed a memorandum of cooperation in Astana today, the Kazinform news agency has quoted the EDB’s press service as saying.

Kazakh Minister of Industry and Trade Vladimir Shkolnik and the deputy chairman of the board of the EDB, Kambar Shalgimbayev, signed the document.

The memorandum is aimed at supporting the development of market economy in the bank’s member states, their stable economic growth and expansion of mutual ties in the fields of trade and economy.

The implementation of the document is in particular aimed at creating a financial and investment mechanism of supporting integration projects of the bank’s member states as well as establishing foreign economic cooperation between them.

The signing of the memorandum creates a legislative basis for developing partnership between the countries in exchanging information related to investment projects; providing participants in investment projects with experts’ consultations; funding and co-funding projects, expanding exports; and monitoring investment projects funded by the bank.
