Students can now apply for an EDB scholarship to conduct PPP research

4 September 2026

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has launched a PPP scholarship programme at Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) and opened an EDB-branded lecture hall, bringing together education, research and practical expertise.

The scholarship programme is designed to support talented students interested in research and in advancing public-private partnership (PPP) practices in Kazakhstan.

As part of the programme, competitions will be held to select scholarship recipients. Winners will receive a US$600 scholarship for the duration of their research, expert guidance, and an opportunity to present their findings at EDB events and in the Bank’s member countries, including the EDB International PPP Scholars Workshops.

The EDB-branded lecture hall, opened on 4 September, is equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia facilities and designed in the EDB and ENU corporate styles. It will serve as a platform for lectures and seminars, project and research-into-practice sessions, expert discussions, and academic and professional conferences on PPPs and integration processes across Eurasia.

“The EDB PPP scholarship programme provides students with early professional orientation and develops their project analysis skills. The international component enables comparative assessment of national PPP models across all EDB member countries. This contributes to building a talent pool capable of taking part in the preparation and implementation of PPP projects both in Kazakhstan and across the Eurasian region. Students will gain not only academic knowledge but also an understanding of how real-life PPP projects are structured and implemented. This is the rationale behind the new educational platform,” said Svetlana Maslova, Director of PPP Projects at the EDB.
