The Eurasian Development Bank to open a US $100 million credit line for NC Food Contract Corporation JSC

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and JSC NC Food Contract Corporation have signed a US $100 million loan agreement. The funds will be channelled into the projects initiated by the national grain operator, and may also be used to finance farmers, stimulate the priority crops production, and create a stable supply of plant products in the domestic market.
The document was signed on the sidelines of the EDB's Annual Meeting and Business Forum by Ruslan Dalenov, Deputy Chairman of the EDB Management Board, and Ildar Ismagulov, First Deputy Chairman of the Corporation's Management Board. Ildar Ismagulov, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of NC Food Contract Corporation JSC, emphasized that the funding will expand the national operator's capabilities to support the agricultural sector. "We thank the EDB for the strategic partnership. The decision to provide funding demonstrates confidence in the Food Contract Corporation as a state institution that helps ensure food stability not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the entire region," Ildar Ismagulov said.
In turn, Ruslan Dalenov, Deputy Chairman of the EDB Management Board, noted that the agreement was a continuation of long-term cooperation with NC Food Contract Corporation JSC: "It is important for the EDB to promote the sustainable development of its member countries' economies, including through support for the agro-industrial sector," he emphasized.
The cooperation between NC Food Contract Corporation JSC and the EDB is aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan's food security and developing the agro-industrial sector as one of the drivers of the country's economic growth.
