KASE (kase.kz) - Batys tranzit (Kazakhstan) launches two one-chain high-voltage power lines

JSC «Batys tranzit» (Almaty), whose bonds are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following press-release of July 18, 2013: quote Joint-stock company «Batys tranzit» in order to increase the volume of electricity transmitted over its power lines in the period from August 2012 to May 2013 constructed two one-chain high voltage power lines with a voltage of 220 kV for external electricity supply of the melting unit No. 4 of the branch of Aktobe ferroalloys plant of JSC «TNC Kazchrome».

On July 4, 2013 there was an official launch of power lines of 37 km each: from PS Ulke to GPP −2 of unit No. 4 of the branch of AFAP Kazchrome. The construction was funded by the Eurasian Development Bank, and cost KZT3 bn. The newly erected power lines will carry a load of some 280 MWt. The launch of new power lines is significant not only for our company but for the whole Aktobe region, because the expected increase in the volume of electricity transmitted over networks of JSC «Batys tranzit» will allow a significant increase in revenues of the company as well as a reduction of the tariff charged for electricity transmission by 20% for all consumers in 2014.
