Kazinform (Kazakhstan) The Kyrgyz Republic is the top supporter of integration in the EEU

The fourth wave of studies into integration preferences in the CIS conducted in 2015 was based on surveying over 11,000 people from nine CIS countries: Armenia, Belarus,

Georgia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Ukraine.

The researchers point out that the population in the EEU countries is predominantly positive about Eurasian economic integration. In particular, the Kyrgyz Republic records the highest level of the public's support for Eurasian integration among the EEU countries (86%). The level of support for the countries' participation in the EEU in Kazakhstan and Russia is 80% and 78%, respectively. A total of 60% of Belarusian citizens and 56% of Armenians are for their countries' membership of the EEU. At the same time, in Armenia, the number of those who feel indifferent or negative about the country's participation in the EEU is growing.

The report also provides data on non-EEU countries. The highest public support for possible joining is expressed in Tajikistan (72%). In Moldova, the number of people who would like their country to join the EEU grew to 53% in 2015 (compared to 49% in 2014).
