Project overview
Almaty International Airport handles up to 64% of Kazakhstan's air passengers and more than 84% of its air cargo. Modernisation is expected to support the country's sustainable growth and international transport and logistics links.
The project plans to build a new terminal and modernise the existing airport, remove capacity constraints, develop routes, increase flight frequencies and improve customer service. The EDB is providing financing under a common terms agreement alongside the EBRD, IFC and DEG.
