Project overview

KEGOC JSC is Kazakhstan's national electricity transmission company and power system operator. It transmits electricity, provides technical dispatching and organises the balancing of electricity generation and consumption.

The Bank is participating in a KEGOC bond issue. Proceeds finance construction of the 500 kV Shulbinsk HPP (Semey)–Aktogay–Taldykorgan–Alma overhead transmission line. It is intended to increase north–south transmission capacity, meet demand from electrified railways and energy-intensive mining, support border areas and renewable energy development, and strengthen the eastern zone's connection to Kazakhstan's unified power system.
