Nikolay Podguzov is appointed as Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank

Almaty, 29 June 2020. The Council of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) appointed Nikolay Podguzov as Chairman of the Management Board. The decision was made at a meeting held in absentia.

Nikolay Podguzov holds a degree in applied mathematics and physics from St. Petersburg State Technical University (1997), and in world economics from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From 2000 to 2003, Mr Podguzov held various positions at the Ministry of Finance of Russia.

From 2003 to 2006, he was Vice President of Trust Investment Bank.

Between 2006 and 2010, he was Vice President and Department Director at Renaissance Capital – Financial Consultant.

In 2004-2005, Mr Podguzov was a Department Head at VTB Capital.

From 2012 to 2013, he was Deputy Director of the Russian Government’s Economy and Finance Department.

Between 2013 and 2017, Mr Podguzov was Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

From July 2017 to September 2019, he was General Director of Russian Post.

From October 2019 to February 2020, he was General Director and Chairman of the Management Board of Russian Post.

From February 2020 to June 2020, Mr Podguzov was First Deputy General Director and Director for Strategic Development at Russian Post.

On 29 June 2020, Mr Podguzov was appointed as Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank.
