The EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives takes part in the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia conference

Moscow, 25 June 2021. Alexander Petrov, Director of the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Fund for Digital Initiatives Fund, took part in Digital Industry of Industrial Russia (CIPR), a forum on the development of the digital economy and the digital transformation of industry.

Alexander Petrov spoke at the session titled Export in the New Reality where he talked about the activities of the EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives, the expansion of Eurasian integration, and the role of Eurasian digital ecosystems in developing economic links among EDB+ countries and their partners and the potential for enhancing Eurasian co-operation and expanding exports through the advancement of cross-border digital ecosystems.

He noted that the scale of markets is a key issue in the digital transformation of an economy.

“It is necessary to synchronise in-country and cross-border objectives for the digital transformation of economies and to promote Eurasian ecosystems as an environment that will form new links and relationships with the markets gravitating towards Eurasian integration,” he stressed.

The other participants in the session included representatives of technology exporters, RUSSOFT, the Russian Export Centre, the Russian Foundation for the Development of Information Technologies, Mosprom, and Russian trade missions in foreign countries.

The Fund’s objective is to assist EDB member states in creating digital transformation tools and practices by integrating their information resources and participating in the development and financing of projects, including those implemented under the Eurasian Economic Union’s Digital Agenda 2025.
