XII International Conference on Eurasian Integration
On October 31, 2017, in Moscow, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) conducted the 12th International Conference Eurasian Integration.
One of the key objectives of the Conference was to identify new Eurasian integration development drivers. This year, the participants focused on promoting integration in the area of finance, investment, infrastructure, foreign economic and humanitarian cooperation. They also paid substantial attention to the strengthening of interstate interaction within the framework of the EAEU. Those matters were discussed at a plenary session of the Conference attended by special guests and leading representatives of government agencies, international organizations, and the expert community.
Participants of a series of panel meetings held a live discussion of certain special interest issues, such as the special role played by multilateral development banks in infrastructural projects, challenges and prospects of economic development within the region, and investment potential of the key branches of the economy of EDB member states.
The EDB conference was traditionally attended by the heads of the Eurasian Economic Commission, government ministries and agencies, international and national development institutions, representatives of academic and business communities of EDB member states, foreign scholars and experts.
EDB conferences have become an efficient tool of communication and exchange of information between representatives of financial institutions, government bodies, and economic agents operating in EDB member states. Recommendations developed during the conferences are used by the Bank to design new ways to enhance its investment policies.
This year, one of the events on the agenda of the Conference was presentation of awards to the winners of the Third International Open Mass Media Contest Eurasian Investment and Development — 21st Century. By way of a reminder, in April 2017, the Bank announced a contest for the best mass media publication on regional economic integration and sustainable development of the countries of the region. Detailed information about the contest is published on the web site of the Bank.
