Albert Rau Appointed Deputy Authorised Representative of Kazakhstan in EDB Council

Albert Rau, First Vice-minister of Industry and New Technology of Kazakhstan, was appointed Deputy Authorised Representative of Kazakhstan in the EDB Council. This decision was made in connection with other governmental appointments pursuant to a governmental resolution dated 15 July 2010.

Summary

Rau, Albert Pavlovich, born 1 September 1960 in Kostanai Oblast, Kazakhstan.

In 1982 graduated from the Rudnensk Industrial Institute as mining electric engineer, and in 2004 from the Russian Academy of Civil Service as manager of national and municipal government; Doctor of Economic Science; full member of the International Economic Academy of Eurasia.

Started working in 1982 as electrician at Kazshakhtorudstroi, later was elected chairman of the trade union committee of the Kurzhunkul Mine Administration in Kustanai Oblast.

1991-1993: Deputy Head of Commerce of the Lisakovsk Municipal Executive Committee; later Chairman of the Lisakovsk Municipal Council of People’s Deputies in Kustanai Oblast.

1993-1995: Deputy Head of the Lisakovsk Municipal Government.

1995-2004: Akim (governor) of Lisakovsk.

2004-2007: Deputy Akim of Kustanai Oblast.

2007-2008: Chairman of the Board of the National Company Social Business Company Saryarka.

2008-2010: Akim of Akmola Oblast.

Since 16 March First Vice-minister of Industry and New Technology of Kazakhstan.
