Moscow, 7 July 2011. Alexei Kudrin, Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Russia, in his letter to Almazbek Atambayev, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, notified the latter of the EDB Council’s unanimous decision to satisfy Kyrgyzstan’s application to join the Agreement Establishing the EDB and accept it as a member of the EDB with a share in the Bank’s charter capital totaling US $100,000.
It was noted in the letter that the EDB Council requested the Kyrgyz side to undertake required in-country measures to implement this resolution at the national level.
The EDB Council also decided that investment projects in Kyrgyzstan would be considered after the Kyrgyz government and the EDB enter into an agreement on the terms of the EDB’s presence in that country and after the agreement takes effect.
The session of the Bank’s Council that considered acceptance of Kyrgyzstan as a member of the EDB took place on 28 June 2011 in Moscow.
