Andrei Kobyakov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, and Andrey Beliyaninov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank, have held a working meeting
Andrei Kobyakov, head of the Belarusian Government, proposed the EDB head to develop a separate strategy for cooperation with Belarus.
"We know that the strategy of the Bank stands to be updated, and we hope very much that Belarus will find its rightful place in that strategy. We also suggest that you may consider designing an individual strategy for the EDB and Belarus, so as to clearly define the main benchmarks that we will target when expanding our cooperation," noted Andrei Kobyakov. Belarus has already used this format in its cooperation with other international financial institutions.
Belarus also counts on recovery and expansion of project financing. "Lately the scope of our interaction has somewhat contracted, but we hope that we will soon change the situation for the better," said the Prime Minister. Andrei Kobyakov said he was certain that operations of the Bank would contribute to further development of integration processes in the Eurasian space. To that end, Belarus is prepared to offer projects that will produce a sound integration effect.
Andrey Beliyaninov, in turn, emphasized the Bank's focus on expansion of its relations with Belarus, and expressed his willingness to discuss the possible interaction prospects.
