Applications are invited for enrolment to the International Eurasian Integration School 2018 titled The Eurasian Economic Union: Contouring the Future. The school has been launched by the Russian International Affairs Council, the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the Eurasian Development Bank.

The International Eurasian Integration School is a short-term programme offering professional development for experts in several areas at once. 

1. The participants will acquire in-depth and specialist knowledge on the topic as well as a comprehensive vision of integration issues relating to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

2. The knowledge obtained in classes will be practised by developing a research product (a foresight, a roadmap, a scenario, etc.) focused on a specific EAEU integration issue pertaining to the theme of the school.

3. The participants will take part in lectures, workshops, open discussions and master classes to develop and deepen knowledge on the practical aspects of the Eurasian economic integration and develop practical skills (such as negotiation and presentation skills, and the alignment of negotiating positions) necessary to prepare a research product and useful for their future professional activities.

4. In addition to the economic component, the programme will also elaborate on the development of the social and humanitarian sphere, interaction with other international unions, the media coverage of the EAEU’s activities, the expansion of cooperation with civil societies in the member states, the strengthening of relationships between universities, and the launching of joint training and research programmes.

  • Master classes, lectures, open discussions and roundtables
  • Workshops to develop analytical skills
  • Training to develop presentation skills
  • Working in groups on a research project 

Dates: 1-5 October 2018

Location: Moscow

Fees: The organisers provide accommodation and meals. The participants will need to pay their travel expenses on their own. 

We invite young professionals, researchers, diplomats, professors, businesspeople, officials, representatives of for-profit and not-for-profit organisations, journalists and bloggers from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, aged between 21 and 35, who are interested in Eurasian economic integration and have a fluent command of Russian. 

The application should be submitted electronically (the form of application is available here: and contain the following:

1) The participant’s CV, stating his or her education, professional experience, competencies and possible professional or research interests in the area of Eurasian integration (in Russian)

2) An essay on one of the topics (between 3,000 and 5,000 symbols)*:

  • The EAEU as the First Example of the Delegation of Authority to the Supranational Level in the Post-Soviet Space
  • The EAEU for Business: Risks and Opportunities
  • Integration for EAEU Member States’ Citizens: Expectations, Outcomes and Opportunities
  • The EAEU in the International Arena: Achievements, Challenges and Forecasts

Phase I: Selection of written applications (9-18 August)

Phase II: Skype interviews with participants (20 August – 1 September)
