Armenian Members of EDB Council Appointed

Almaty, 21 May 2009. The Government of Armenia appointed Armen Movsisyan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia, authorised representative of Armenia in the EDB Council, and Iosif Isayan, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, his deputy. In April this year, Armenia became a full member of the EDB and, in accordance with the EDB Charter, formally notified the Council of the appointment of Council members from Armenia.

Until now, the EDB Council comprised the following members from Russia and Kazakhstan:

• Viktor Khristenko, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation (Chairman);
• Dmitry Pankin, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation;
• Bolat Zhamishev, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Deputy Chairman); and
• Kuandyk Bishimbayev, Head of Socioeconomic Monitoring, Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
