Azerbaijan and Moldova join the COVID-19 Free Travel app
Moscow, 31 August 2021. Laboratories in Azerbaijan and Moldova have joined the COVID-19 Free Travel app. PCR tests for the QR code are already available at 30 testing sites in Azerbaijan and 5 in Moldova. A detailed and up-to-date list of nearby testing sites and labs is available in the app.
For those entering Russia from Azerbaijan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, the use of the COVID-19 Free Travel app will become compulsory from 1 September 2021. The relevant requirement is contained in the updated version of Order 635-r of the Russian Government dated 16 March 2020.
The COVID-19 Free Travel app is available in App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery. In Moldova, the app can be installed on mobile devices running Android version 5.0 or above using the link https://covidfreetravel.org/apps/nocovid19.apk or QR code:
A total of 2,570 testing sites and labs are now connected to the app: 80 in Armenia, 69 in Belarus, 1,436 in Russia, 525 in Kazakhstan, 183 in the Kyrgyz Republic, 100 in Tajikistan, and 142 in Uzbekistan. Today, the COVID-19 Free Travel app is compulsory for entry into Russia from EAEU member states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and the Kyrgyz Republic. A total of 723,000 users have installed it on their phones and received around 945,000 PCR results.
The COVID-19 Free Travel app was developed by the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Fund for Digital Initiatives. It is aimed to ensure free and safe movement of people among countries during the coronavirus pandemic. The app helps reduce the risk of the spread of the coronavirus and improve interstate control.
