Dmitry Pankin, head of EDB, speaks at the 14th All-Russia Forum "Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia"

The 14th All-Russia Forum "Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia" took place on 19-20 October 2015 in St. Petersburg, with support from Eurasian Development Bank. The main issue of discussion was the acute need of economic restructuring in Russia.

Dmitry Pankin, Chairman of the Management Board at EDB, spoke at a plenary session of the forum. He emphasised that turbulence in the financial market and geopolitical instability urged to take measures to solve the country's strategic tasks. One of the tools for these tasks solvation is long-term loans and investment for the structural development of the national economy in general and backbone infrastructure in particular. Dmitry Pankin stated that, in the current circumstances, this was the priority task of institutions such as Eurasian Development Bank.

The opinions of experts shared at the forum are planned to be taken into account in preparing the Development Strategy for Russia until 2030.

The organiser of the forum is Leontievsky Centre, an international centre for social and economic research.
