EDB appoints Structured Finance Director

Almaty, 10 July 2012. Evgeny Taubkin was appointed as Structured Finance Director at Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

Evgeny Taubkin was born in 1976 in Moscow. In 1998 he graduated with honours from the State University of Management.

From 1998 to 2007, Mr Taubkin held various positions at the Kapital Investment Group, from specialist in the Asset Management Department to director of the Risk Management Department. In 2004 Mr Taubkin headed the Strategic Development Department where he was responsible for the preparation of long-term development strategies, the implementation of a new corporate governance system and the operational and strategic planning system, and the management of investment projects in the area of real estate and relationships with largest international and Russian banks. At the same time, he was a member of the Board and a co-manager of the Risk Management Committee at Kapital.

In 2007—2009 Mr Taubkin took part in the creation of the ROSNANO State Corporation, first as a deputy (during its formation) and then as an advisor to the general director. He worked with governmental authorities and financial institutions.

From 2007 and before joining EDB, Mr Taubkin was managing director at the Alemar Investment Financial Corporation and co-managed theinvestment and banking section. In 2009—2011, fourteen project finance and financial consulting transactions were closed, which raised over US $2 billion of new share and debt capital for high-tech projects (solar energy, health and medicines, alternative energy, and microelectronics, among others).
