EDB Hosts Third Eurasian Integration Conference
On 15 October, the Third Eurasian Integration Conference started in Almaty. This EDB-hosted event will be held from 15 to 17 October, to discuss various institutional and functional aspects of integration in Eurasia. Particularly, its agenda covers:
- integration in the water energy sector;
- common energy markets;
- integration of transport networks and problems of transport corridors; and
- general institutional and financial aspects of physical cross-border infrastructure.
The Conference will include a Roundtable dedicated to the measuring and appraising of integration processes.
In addition, the Bank’s research staff will present two EDB information and analytical products, the Yevraziyskaya ekonomicheskaya integratsiya magazine and the EDB Eurasian Integration Yearbook.
The event will be attended by more than 70 major researchers and leading specialists in international economic and political relations from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belgium, the UK, Germany, China, the United States, and Switzerland. Invitations were also forwarded to the heads and leading experts of the CIS and EurAsEC executive bodies, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank.
This event is the EDB’s third international forum dedicated to the problems of Eurasian integration.
