EDB representatives discuss Islamic Window with Dubai Multi Commodity Center and Dar Al Sharia

Almaty, June 22 2024 -  Ruslan Dalenov, Deputy Chairman of Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), and Nurym Ayazbaev, Director of the Energy Department EDB and Secretary of Islamic Window Task Force established by EDB, have met with representatives of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and Dar Al Sharia (DAS) on Thursday, 13th of June, 2024.

They had a wide-ranging discussion with DMCC led by Patrick Ghata and Dar Al Sharia led by Ammar Ahmed to explore the solutions provided by DMCC Tradeflow to facilitate Sharia compliant transactions for EDB and also possibility of support in expanding the Islamic finance footprint in Kazakhstan and other member countries of the EDB.

This meeting happens in continuation of the Bank’s actions towards the development of Islamic banking market in the Central Asia. Previously, at the start of 2024, the EDB together with Dar Al Sharia started developing the Islamic Window of the Bank.
