EDB supports the second round of lectures and workshops to be provided by Russian researchers in Kyrgyzstan
Almaty, 4 September 2014. Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) will provide technical assistance to the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in implementing a project to develop cooperation between the Kyrgyz and Russian research and expert communities by means of lectures and research-into-practice workshops on economics and management. The project is part of the Programme for Regional Integration Research of the EDB Technical Assistance Fund.
The project envisages sixteens lectures to be held before the end of the year for the general public, as well as workshops for researchers and experts, representatives of governmental authorities and university lecturers. Prominent researchers from Russia’s leading academic institutions and universities will be invited to speak in Bishkek. The themes of lectures and workshops will be agreed with lecturers.
These lectures and workshops will help to create in Kyrgyzstan a core of research in economics and management, improve the qualification of the country’s specialists, and advance professional training for lecturers in economics.
In addition, the Bank’s support to this project will contribute to the advancement of scientific cooperation in the area of economics and management between Kyrgyz and Russian research and expert communities and will help to establish long-term partnerships between researchers, universities and research centres of the two countries, thereby promoting joint research and publications.
The ultimate result of this EDB-supported project will be the improvement of the research base for Kyrgyzstan’s socioeconomic development and its economic integration with CIS countries.
The current project continues another project of inviting Russian researchers and experts to Kyrgyzstan to conduct research-into-practice workshops on economics and management, which was launched in 2013.
