EDB takes part in arranging a syndicated loan for Belagroprombank
Almaty, 29 March 2016 — Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) signed an agreement on participating as a lead arranger of a syndicated loan for Belagroprombank. The loan will comprise three parts: EUR 75 million, US $4 million, and RUB 7 billion, including EDB's share of EUR 20 million.
The loan will be provided for twelve months to finance exim transactions between Belarus and Russia involving the supply of goods and equipment from Russia.
The other arrangers are Alfa Bank (mandated lead arranger), Transcapitalbank (mandated lead arranger), Promsvyazbank (mandated lead arranger), Bank Finservice, Russian Agricultural Bank, the Interregional Bank for Settlements of the Telecommunications and Postal Services (Sviaz Bank), the Oil-Industrial Investment Commercial Bank (Nefteprombank), and AK BARS Bank.

Belagroprombank is one of Belarus' largest state-owned banks, with historically high positions in the banking sector. It ranks second in the country's banking system in terms of assets, equity, retail deposits, and corporate loans. The bank has a wide network of branches in Belarus. In 2014, The Banker ranked it 573rd among the world's top 1,000 banks and 18th among CEE largest 25 banks . Belagroprombank has over 100 partners in financing foreign trade all over the world. Its customer base comprises around 2 million retail and some 50,000 corporate clients.
