EDB to finance supplies of agricultural equipment to Kazakhstan

Almaty, 30 June 2015. Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) opened a RUB 1.5 billion line of credit for KazAgroFinance. The respective agreement was signed on 29 June 2016 by Dmitry Ladikov-Royev, Managing Director for Assets and Liabilities, and Ainur Seitkasimova, First Deputy Chair of the Board at KazAgroFinance.

The funds will be used to finance supplies of agricultural equipment to Kazakhstan, from EDB member states in the first place. In accordance with the agreement, at least 80% of the facility will be used to purchase equipment from EDB member states, primarily Russia. The funds may be extended in KZT and RUB, as direct finance from EDB.

The project conforms to EDB's mission and strategy. It will promote sustainable economic growth in Kazakhstan, an upgrade of its fleet of agricultural equipment and the development of its agroindustrial sector, and will enhance trade between EDB member states.

KazAgroFinancewas established in 1999 under a resolution of the Government of Kazakhstan. The company is a member of the KazAgro National Management Holding. Its main objective is to support the country’s agrarian sector by ensuring access for agricultural producers to finance, and agricultural and process equipment on the terms of lease. The company has fourteen branches and operates throughout Kazakhstan.
