Environmental and education projects win the 2024 EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives Competition

Almaty, 8 April 2024. Clean Games, an interregional civil society organisation promoting environmental awareness and patriotism, and Impulse won the Digital Project Competition held by the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Fund for Digital Initiatives. The committee, chaired by Tigran Sargsyan, Vice Chairman of the EDB Management Board and Fund Supervisor, made the decision to select these projects.
 
The application window for the competition was open from October 2023 to January 2024, during which more than 70 applications were received from all EDB member countries, including Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, and 14 projects advanced to the final round. Submissions encompassed solutions in art, food safety, goods traceability, industrial cooperation, labour market, corporate security, environment and education.

The competition highlighted several promising projects implemented by government agencies in EDB countries. The Fund for Digital Initiatives intends to further develop these projects in collaboration with the initiators.

Clean Games is developing an IT platform for eco-volunteer events. This platform facilitates easy participation in environmental initiatives, fosters social engagement, strengthens social ties and cultivates local environmental communities.

Impulse is developing an educational LMS system tailored for corporations and EdTech companies. The system operates on a monthly subscription basis, offering detailed product analysis, flexible system configuration and integration of essential tools to optimise business processes and enhance client engagement and retention.

The winners of the EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives’ competition will present their projects at the EDB Annual Meeting scheduled to take place in Almaty on 27–28 June 2024.

The EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives was established in June 2020. Its objective is to assist the EDB member states in creating digital transformation tools and practices by integrating their information resources and participating in the development and financing of projects. The Fund’s flagship project is the COVID-19-Free Travel mobile app used in nine CIS countries.
