First Session of Working Group for Interaction between EDB and Ukraine Held in Kiev

Almaty, 27 July 2011. The first session of the Working Group for Interaction between the EDB and Ukraine was held in Kiev. The meeting was chaired by Valery Muntiyan, Government Commissioner for Cooperation with the Russian Federation, CIS, EurAsEC and other regional associations, and Viktor Bolyasnikov, Deputy Chairman of the EDB Executive Board.

The Ukrainian side informed the EDB about the progress of cooperation between Ukraine and the Bank, within the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund (“Fund”) in particular. In addition, a number of potential investment projects were presented in the spheres of energy and energy saving, agriculture, mechanical engineering, transport, and research and technology, in which Ukraine is interested.

The EDB informed the Ukrainian side about the Bank’s performance for over five years since its foundation, the procedure for selecting and approving investment projects financed by the Bank and the Fund, and the financial terms of loans provided by the Fund.

The Working Group decided to prepare a plan of action for 2011-2012 and discuss it during the next session which will take place in November 2011.
