New Deputy Chairman of EDB Executive Board Appointed
Moscow, 16 June 2010. As per the resolution of the EDB Council dated 3 June 2010, Igor Finogenov, Chairman of the EDB Executive Board, signed today the resolution to appoint Gennady Zhuzhlev Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board-Managing Director of Projects.
In his new capacity Gennady Zhuzhlev will work on building on the Bank’s investment portfolio, expanding its participation in integration projects being implemented in the member states in co-operation with major strategic partners in Russia, Armenia and Belarus (Inter RAO EES, Rosnanotekhnologiyi, Rosenergoatom, Unified Aircraft Building Corporation, Unified Ship Building Corporation, RusGidro, etc), improving co-operation between related ministries of member states and CIS countries, and implementing joint projects with national and international development institutions (Vneshekonombank, EBRD, IFC, etc.).
Summary
Gennady Zhuzhlev was born in 1975. In 1996 he graduated from the Tsiolkovsky Moscow State Technology Institute. In 1999 graduated from the MIRBIS Moscow Higher School of Business (Finance and Credit).
Gennady Zhuzhlev works in the banking sector since 1995 (Gloria Bank, Inter-bank Credit).
He has accumulated vast practical experience in project finance and investment project financing. In 1996-2003 occupied various posts at MDM Bank: Risk Management, Head of Large Credits, and Deputy Head of Credit Department.
In 2003-2008 was a CEO of URALSIB. In 2003-2006 worked as head of credit and project finance at that institution. In 2006-2007 headed the business team of Finansovoye Atelye (direct investments). In October 2007 he was appointed head of Central Regional Direction of URALSIB.
Gennady Zhuzhlev joined the EDB in July 2008 as Director of Projects. Since the last summer was acting Managing Director of Projects.
He headed the launch of a number of sizable projects such as reconstruction of TETS-4 thermal power plant in Argun, Chechnya, construction of car-mounted gas accumulating plants for Gazprom, reconstruction and development of Pulkovo Airport (St. Petersburg) by a consortium of international financial institutions, and some new projects in Armenia and Belarus.
On 3 June 2010 the EDB Council appointed Gennady Zhuzhlev Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board.
