New EDB Council Member from Kazakhstan Appointed

In accordance with the Charter of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), the Republic of Kazakhstan as founder officially notified the EDB on the appointment of a new EDB Council Member.

Aset Isekeshev, Minister of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan, is appointed deputy authorised representative of Kazakhstan in the EDB Council. He replaced Kuandyk Bishimbayev, who presently works as Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan. The resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to that effect was signed by Prime-Minister Karim Masimov on 29 June this year.

Thus, at present, members of the EDB Council are:

  • Viktor Khristenko, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation;
  • Dmitry Pankin, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation;
  • Bolat Zhamishev, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Aset Isekeshev, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Armen Movsisyan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia; and
  • Iosif Isayan, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia.
