Russia pays in charter capital

Moscow, January 22, 2008 – The Russian Federation paid in the final installment of US$600 million of its charter capital to the Eurasian Development Bank today, bringing its total invested to US$1 billion. According to the Bank’s founding documents, the charter capital is $1.5 billion dollars, with $1 billion to be paid in by the Russian Federation and $500 million by the Republic of Kazakhstan. Capital was planned to be fully paid-in by the end of 2008. With this final installment from Russia, the total paid in to date is US$1.404 billion.
