06 May 2010

Moscow, Kremlin, 6 May 2010. Today, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev conferred the Order of Friendship on Igor Finogenov, Chairman of the EDB Executive Board. A decree on awarding Finogenov was signed by President Medvedev on 28 January 2010.

Since 2005 Igor Finogenov as Assistant to the Russian Minister of Finance and then as Chairman of the EDB Executive Board has headed a major integration project in the CIS—the development of a new international bank whose mission is to assist the economic growth of its member states, trade and economic ties between them, and Eurasian integration.

The Order of Friendship is the state decoration of the Russian Federation. It was established in 1994 by a presidential decree. This Order can be awarded to citizens who have made an outstanding contribution to the strengthening of interethnic friendship, Russian economy and science, mutual enrichment of ethnic cultures, peace, and international friendship.
