Sergei Lebedev, Executive Secretary of the CIS, and Igor Finogenov, Chairman of the EDB Executive Board, have a working meeting at the Bank's headquarters in Almaty
Almaty, 26 March 2012. Sergei Lebedev, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Secretary of the CIS, arrived today in Almaty to take part in the meeting of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Member Nations of the CIS. On the first day of his working visit, Mr Lebedev had a meeting with Igor Finogenov, Chairman of the EDB Executive Board, at the Banks headquarters in Almaty.
At the meeting Mr Finogenov told about the EBDs achievements over six years of its activity in the region, the successful projects financed by the Bank, and objectives for the near future. Mr Lebedev noted the EDBs important role in integration and economic development of the Banks member states.
The Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Member Nations of the CIS will meet on Tuesday, 27 March. This meeting is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Council. Delegations are expected from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Ukraine. Representatives of international parliamentary organisations are also expected to take part in the event.
