Sergei Rumas Appointed Authorised Representative of Belarus in EDB Council
Almaty, 18 February 2011. Sergei Rumas, Deputy Prime-Minister of Belarus, was appointed authorised representative of Belarus in the EDB Council, pursuant to Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Belarus dated 14 February 2011.

Rumas, Sergei Nikolayevich, born 1 December 1969 in Gomel.
In 1990 graduated from the Yaroslav Higher Military Financial School (with honours) and in 1995 from the Academy of Management of the Cabinet of Ministers of Belarus. Professional banker with vast experience in public and commercial organisations. Started his career in the Soviet period, particularly, worked in the Special Department of the Belarusian branch of the State Bank of the USSR which was in charge of financing the Belarusian Military Command.
1990–1992: served in the Soviet army.
1992–1994: head of Accounting & Operating, Credit and Economics of the Special Department of the National Bank of Belarus.
May-August 1994: Deputy Chairman of the Board of the commercial bank Severo-Zapad.
1994–1995: Deputy Chairman of the Board of the joint-stock bank Sodruzhestvo.
1995–2002: Director of Branch No.7 (514) of Belarusbank.
2002–2005: Deputy Chairman of the Board and First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank.
2005–2010: Chairman of Belagroprombank.
Since December 2010: Deputy Prime-Minister of Belarus.
Candidate of Economic Sciences.
Awarded with the Certificate of Honour of the Cabinet of Ministers of Belarus (2009) and the Certificate of Honour of the National Assembly of Belarus (2009).
Married with four sons.
