Sergey Vasiliev is appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the EDB Management Board

Almaty, 14 July 2020. Sergey Vasiliev has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

Sergey Vasiliev holds a degree in economic cybernetics from the Leningrad Institute of Finance and Economics. He is a Professor and Doctor of Economics.

From 1991 to 1994, Sergey Vasiliev headed the Working Centre for Economic Reforms under the Government of the Russian Federation.

From 1994 to 1997, he was Deputy Minister of Economy of the Russian Federation.

In 1997-1998, he was First Deputy Head of the Central Office of the Government of the Russian Federation.

From 1998 to 1999, he chaired the Management Board of the International Investment Bank.

In 1999-2001, he was President of the Leontief International Centre for Social and Economic Research.

From 2001 to 2007, Sergey Vasiliev was a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Chairman of the Committee for Financial Markets and Monetary Circulation; and representative of the Federation Council on the National Banking Council.

From 2007 to 2019, he was Deputy Chairman of VEB.RF.

Sergey Vasiliev was appointed as Deputy Chairman of the EDB Management Board on 14 July 2020.
