The EDB and ESCAP renew their memorandum of understanding

St. Petersburg, 7 June 2019. Andrey Beliyaninov, Chairman of the Management Board at the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), and Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), signed a memorandum of understanding in the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The EDB and ESCAP intend to cooperate in the areas of macroeconomic policy and development finance, trade and investments, transport, water supply and energy, social development, disaster risk reduction, statistics, environmental protection and sustainable development, as well as information and communication technology.

The document substituted the memorandum the parties signed in 2013.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is an international financial institution founded by Russia and Kazakhstan in January 2006 with the mission to facilitate the development of market economies, sustainable economic growth, and the expansion of mutual trade and other economic ties in its member states. The member states of the Bank are the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan.
