The EDB and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration discuss prospects for cooperation

Nur-Sultan, 30 September 2020. Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), and Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, had a working meeting in Nur-Sultan to discuss cooperation, the EDB’s ongoing investments in Kazakhstan, and new projects, including deeper industrial cooperation by setting up a trade and industrial hub in Kazakhstan that would serve the entire region.

The sides also discussed the Bank’s participation in developing the national commodity distribution system in Kazakhstan, as well as in the Kazakhstan–Russia cross-border cooperation programme.

They emphasised that Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration and the EDB had established a constructive dialogue and needed to develop it further.

The sides also agreed to arrange regular meetings and define projects for joint implementation.

The Minister of Trade and Integration and the head of the EDB expressed confidence that fruitful cooperation between the Bank and the ministry would contribute to Eurasian integration.
