The EDB and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport discuss financing for road projects
Almaty, 27 January 2024. Marat Karabayev, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport, visited the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) headquarters in Almaty to discuss the strategic development of roads and explore opportunities for leveraging funds to support infrastructure projects.
During the meeting, Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the EDB Management Board, and the minister discussed the terms for mobilising funding for investment projects aimed at the reconstruction and construction of roads.
Special attention was given to the EDB’s role in financing mid-life repairs. The parties also discussed the overhaul of dilapidated bridges.
The EDB has expressed its willingness to finance such projects, with the goal of enhancing their structure and extending their lifespan. The parties have agreed to continue their collaboration in promoting infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan.
