01 October 2019

Moscow, 30 September 2019. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB) signed a cooperation agreement to support exports from Belarus.

The EDB entered into this agreement with the DBRB as part of its work to enhance trade and other economic ties between its member states and in order to attract financing on special terms for the purchase of goods and services produced by Belarusian residents. The DBRB will extend individual loans to the EDB for it to finance member states’ importers in four currencies – the Russian and Belarusian roubles, the euro, and the U.S. dollar.

“Given the unique position of the EDB as an international financial institution, this agreement will make it possible for the DBRB to support national exports to the member states of our Bank and promote economic growth and integration in Eurasia,” Dmitry Ladikov-Roev, Managing Director for Assets and Liabilities at the EDB, commented.

According to him, supporting exports is a key area of the development of the EAEU economies.
