Tashkent, 9 December 2021. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and Tenge Bank signed a cooperation agreement to implement treasury and financial market cooperation transactions in Uzbekistan. The agreement was executed by Daniyar Imangaliyev, Vice Chairman of the EDB Management Board, and Talgat Ayupov, Chairman of the Board of Tenge Bank, during the EDB delegation’s business visit to Tashkent.

The parties intend to develop cooperation in treasury transactions and correspondent relations. The agreement also provides for the EDB to facilitate organised trading on the Uzbek Republican Currency Exchange.

“We are very pleased to start cooperation with the EDB. The agreement covers quite a wide range of interactions between our parties, including mutual interbank deposits, forex transactions, correspondent accounts, and mutual credit facilities,” said Talgat Ayupov.

“The agreement we signed today is aimed at strengthening the long-term partnership between the EDB and the Halyk Group. We are pleased to see Tenge Bank as our first interbank partner in Uzbekistan. The agreement on the general terms and conditions of interbank transactions will make it possible for us to start treasury transactions as early as this year,” said Daniyar Imangaliyev.

As part of the EDB delegation’s visit to Uzbekistan, the EDB and Tenge Bank also signed an agreement on the general terms and conditions of interbank transactions in the foreign exchange and money markets.
