The EDB finances Khimprom’s investment programme to produce antiseptic and disinfectant components
Moscow, 28 December 2020. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) will provide RUB 1.1 billion to finance Khimprom’s investment programme to upgrade its production facilities. The agreement was signed by Sergey Ignatov, Managing Director and Head of the EDB Directorate for Industries, and Sergey Nauman, General Director of Khimprom.
The EDB’s investment in upgrading production will help the company to maintain its operational capability and ensure uninterrupted production of isopropyl alcohol, which is used in the production of antiseptics, as well as calcium and sodium hypochlorides and hydrogen peroxide used for disinfection
The project is being implemented in accordance with the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council’s Decree 6 dated 10 April 2020 On Measures Taken within the Eurasian Economic Union to Ensure Economic Stability in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Khimprom is located in the Chuvash Republic and is one of Russia’s largest chemical enterprises focusing on bulk chemicals. Khimprom’s production is systemically important in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
