The EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives launches another Digital Project Competition

28 November 2024

Almaty, 28 November 2024.  Tigran Sargsyan, Vice Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Management Board, held a press conference announcing the achievements of the EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives over the past year and announced the launch of another Digital Project Competition by the Fund.

According to Tigran Sargsyan, the Fund for Digital Initiatives supported seven new projects in 2024, totalling over USD 2.5 million. These projects included establishing national electronic vehicle passport systems in Kyrgyzstan and Armenia and enhancing the Impulse educational system. In Kazakhstan, the Fund supported three key government projects: the implementation of the Kazmedia TV and radio broadcasting risk management system, the national digital investment platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and GovStack, a joint international initiative of the Fund and the UN International Telecommunication Union, aimed at sharing knowledge and information for implementing e-government solutions across the region.

Among the supported initiatives, ATTILAN, an international telerehabilitation platform, was presented separately during the press conference by Alexey Akhmetshin, head of the platform’s project office and an expert in medical cybernetics products. The ATTILAN platform connects patients, rehabilitators, charities and manufacturers of bionic upper and lower limb prostheses and wheelchairs, including in real time. The pilot project will launch in EDB member states, including Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, with plans to expand it to all EAEU countries and the wider Eurasian region.

In conclusion, Tigran Sargsyan encouraged businesses and organisations from EDB member states involved in projects aimed at deepening regional integration to participate in the Digital Project Competition. Applications will be accepted until 31 January 2025 (inclusively). For the competition’s terms and conditions, please visit https://fci.eabr.org/projects/competition/ or scan the QR code below:
