The EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives signs a memorandum with the Tax Committee of Tajikistan on digital transformation and advanced technologies

20 November 2025

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation, laying the groundwork for joint efforts aimed at promoting digital transformation and integration projects in the tax sphere.

The document was executed by Tigran Sargsyan, Vice Chairman of the EDB Management Board, and Solehzoda Ayubjon Maruf, First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee.

The EDB and the Tax Committee began to cooperate in 2025 to support the adoption of state-of-the-art digital tools and practices in tax operations, improve public services and build the capacity of the parties as centres of excellence for digital transformation.

Under the memorandum, the parties will jointly:

  • develop digital transformation tools for the Tax Committee
  • implement integration projects of EDB member countries in the tax sphere
  • build their capacity as centres of expertise in digitalisation

Tigran Sargsyan, Vice Chairman of the EDB Management Board, commented:

“The memorandum opens up opportunities for improving the tax system, implementing advanced technology and sharing experience between Eurasian countries. Joint initiatives will facilitate interactions between economic agents, simplify compliance with double taxation regulations and create a modern tax information system.”

The partnership with the EDB will strengthen digital infrastructure, institutional capacity and integration into Eurasian economic processes.
