The EDB held seminar on launching public-private partnership (PPP) projects in Belarus
Minsk
The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), together with the PPP Center, held a training seminar titled “Preparation and Launch of PPP Projects in the Republic of Belarus: Lessons Learned and International Best Practices.” The event was aimed at enhancing the practical competencies of participants involved in PPP projects.
“Experience from mature PPP markets shows that establishing a sustainable pipeline of PPP projects attractive to private investors, bankable and aligned with government needs requires more than just a legal and institutional framework. Of key importance is the effective work of project teams in preparing and supporting the implementation of PPP projects, as well as their practical skills. The EDB’s experience demonstrates that workshops using project-based learning and real PPP cases enable a swift and effective transition from project planning to implementation,” said Vladimir Yermolovich, EDB Director for Belarus.
“This workshop continues the EDB’s series of events aimed at building PPP capacity in its member countries, including the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan. They contributed not only to the growth in the number of PPP projects but also to the improvement of their quality and development,” added Svetlana Maslova, Director of PPP Projects at the EDB Department for Project Support.
