The EDB is interested in financing road infrastructure in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Region
St. Petersburg, 6 June 2019. Andrey Beliyaninov, Chairman of the Management Board at the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), and Gleb Nikitin, Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, signed a letter of intent at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The parties agreed to cooperate in financing road construction projects for up to RUB 20 billion.
These may include the EDB’s participation in the construction of the Shopsha – Ivanovo – Nizhny Novgorod road (R-152) bypassing the town of Balakhna, as well as the construction of overpasses over railways beween the Pochinki and Zavolzhye stations and over a junction near the Petryayevka station in Nizhny Novgorod.
These overpasses are needed to develop Nizhny Novgorod’s road infrastructure and improve access to neighbouring regions.
