The EDB opens a branded PPP lecture hall and launches a PPP scholarship programme at Russian-Armenian University
Yerevan, 9 September 2024. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) continues to its technical assistance project aimed at advancing the public-private partnership (PPP) institutional framework and building PPP competencies in Armenia, in partnership with Russian-Armenian University (RAU).
As part of this project, the EDB has established a branded PPP lecture hall at RAU, equipped to deliver a specialised PPP course developed in alignment with international standards and the demands of the PPP market.
The EDB has also concluded its PPP Scholarship Competition, designed to support talented RAU students interested in researching and expanding PPP practices in Armenia and the EAEU.
“The opening of the EDB-branded PPP lecture hall and the awarding of the Bank’s PPP scholarships are significant milestones in implementing the technical assistance project, which greatly enhances interest in PPPs among future professionals in Armenia’s financial and management sectors. The EDB has extensive practical experience in financing PPP projects. For this reason, in addition to promoting knowledge and competencies in PPP, the Bank seeks to share its expertise and best practices through PPP training for RAU students and faculty,” said Svetlana Maslova, EDB Director for PPP Projects.
“This year, we have undertaken a major project in collaboration with the EDB at our Chair of Economics and Finance. In 2024, we met most of our objectives, including the launch of the EDB’s PPP lecture hall and scholarship programme. Starting in September, the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Economics and Finance include a course on PPP. Additionally, we are finalising a country review on PPPs in Armenia in partnership with EDB colleagues,” stated Mariam Voskanyan, Head of the Chair of Economics and Finance and Coordinator of the EDB’s PPP project at RAU.
