The EDB opens a modern lecture hall and launches a PPP scholarship in Tajikistan
Dushanbe, 21 November 2025
The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has opened its branded lecture hall at the Russian-Tajik Slavonic University (RTSU) – a state-of-the-art and well-equipped space for studying public-private partnerships (PPPs) and conducting project and research-into-practice sessions on PPPs and Eurasian integration.
In addition, the EDB, RTSU and the Centre for the Implementation of PPP Projects have announced the winners in Tajikistan’s first competition for an EDB PPP scholarship. Five RTSU students have received financial support from the Bank to research the expansion of PPP practices in Tajikistan and the EAEU.
Vladimir Yakunin, EDB Director for Tajikistan, said:
“The opening of the EDB-branded lecture hall and the PPP scholarship is a strategic investment in Tajikistan’s future, where infrastructure will develop dynamically and sustainably. This requires modern expertise and a deep understanding of how to leverage private investment and work with the private sector. As part of the technical assistance project that the Bank is undertaking jointly with RTSU and the Centre for the Implementation of PPP Projects, we will also support the launch of a PPP training programme for government officials across different regions of Tajikistan and prepare a country review of PPPs. These initiatives will help realise the country’s PPP potential to the fullest.”
