The EDB opens a RUB 5.7 billion loan facility for the DBK

Moscow, 4 December 2020. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan (DBK) signed a loan agreement for the EDB to open a seven-year RUB 5.724 billion loan facility for the DBK. The signing ceremony took place in the sidelines of the First Eurasian Congress hosted by the EDB.

Transactions in the financial sector are among the EDB’s investment priorities as set forth by its Strategy for 2018-2022.

The funds will be used to finance investment projects in priority sectors within the mandate of the DBK.

“I would like to note that the document signed with the EDB will open a new direction of cooperation in respect of transactions in Russian roubles in the DBK’s priority lending areas,” said Abay Sarkulov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.

“The EDB and the DBK have a long-standing partnership. I am confident that the signed agreement will create new opportunities for our Kazakhstani colleagues in terms of their investment activities,” commented Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the EDB’s Management Board.
