The EDB provides US $9 million to A-Leasing (Belarus) to purchase cars assembled and made in Russia

Almaty, 15 January 2020. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and A-Leasing (Belarus) signed a US $9 million loan agreement to purchase Russian cars to be leased to legal entities and individuals.

The project is in the financial sector, which is one of the Bank’s priorities under its strategy for 2018-2022.

A-Leasing will purchase cars made and assembled in Russia from official dealers in Belarus to further lease them to legal entities and individuals. The project will support mechanical engineering in the Bank’s member states by advancing leasing, which is also one of the Bank’s priorities.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is an international financial institution founded by Russia and Kazakhstan in January 2006 with the mission to facilitate the development of market economies, sustainable economic growth, and the expansion of mutual trade and other economic ties in its member states. The EDB's charter capital totals US $7 billion. The member states of the Bank are the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan.

A-Leasing is a leasing company established in 2016 and a member of the Alfa Group Consortium. The company specialises in leasing passenger and light commercial vehicles in Belarus. The Association of Lessors of Belarus lists A-Leasing among the country’s top three leasing companies.
