28 October 2025, Bishkek.
The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has received the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Award of the Kyrgyz Republic in the category International Partner of the Year and took part in the session High-Level Discussion: The Past, Present and Future of PPPs at the Fourth International PPP Conference, held on 23–24 October 2025 in Bishkek.
The event has become a recognised regional platform for sharing experience and promoting best practices in PPP project implementation in the Kyrgyz Republic and across Central Asia.
The conference opened with the high-level discussion The Past, Present and Future of PPPs, attended by representatives of the EDB, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
“In today's fast-changing world, PPPs cannot remain static. Both the PPP model and its operating environment are being transformed by major global and regional processes aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the transition to a circular economy, digitalisation and integration. It is important that the EDB is not an outside observer of PPP transformations, but at the forefront of them,” said Svetlana Maslova, Director of PPP Projects at the EDB Department for Project Support.
During her presentation, Svetlana Maslova highlighted the Bank’s products designed to develop the institutional environment and build PPP capacity in Armenia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan. She specifically mentioned the launch of the technical assistance project Developing Sustainable Solid Waste and Secondary Raw Material Management in the Kyrgyz Republic: Infrastructure and Transition to a Circular Economy.
The conference concluded with a PPP awards ceremony where the Eurasian Development Bank was honoured with the International Partner of the Year award.
“The EDB and the PPP Centre of the Kyrgyz Republic have a long-standing and strong partnership. We have implemented several successful initiatives together, continue our work on PPP project development and the relevant training programme, and are preparing a country review of PPPs in the Kyrgyz Republic. By continuing our partnership, we can achieve even greater results in advancing PPP development in country,” emphasised Svetlana Maslova.
