The EDB’s Fund for Digital Initiatives invites partners to implement a Eurasian tourism platform
Moscow, 16 June 2021. The Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Fund for Digital Initiatives is interested in partnering with market leaders to implement a Eurasian tourism platform. Yulia Chalaya, a representative of the Fund, stated this at the Puteshestvui (Travel) Russian Tourism Forum.
The session titled IT in a Big Way: B2B and B2G Communications in Tourism discussed views and best practices in building tourism ecosystems and platforms. Yulia Chalaya spoke about the EDB Fund for Digital Initiatives’ ambition to develop and promote a Eurasian tourism platform. She said that the Eurasian tourism platform should contain the services and content necessary for travellers, including a smart trip planner, and provide G2C services such as visas for inbound tourism to the EAEU countries. The solution should both directly connect countries and SMEs through contracts and platform standards and become an aggregator of existing services.
“In a pandemic, alternative routes to the usual ones are in particular demand. Eurasian countries can offer interesting locations and new destinations for tourists, and the platform will suggest all possible options. We are building the platform to balance business interests and strategic integration priorities such as digital sovereignty, common markets and infrastructures, the involvement of as many suppliers from all EAEU+ countries as possible, fair competition, and user protection,” said Yulia Chalaya.
