The EDB to participate in creating Kazakhstan’s national investment platform

Almaty, 16 May 2023. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) will participate in the creation of a unified investment platform on Kazakhstan’s e-government information and communication platform. The relevant memorandum was signed by Ruslan Dalenov, Vice Chairman of the EDB Management Board; Ardak Zebeshev, Chairman of the Investment Committee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan; and Sarmat Utigaliyev, Acting Deputy Chairman of the Board at National Information Technologies JSC (Kazakhstan), during the 46th Annual Meetings of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) in Almaty.

The national investment platform will feature a centralised database for investment projects and aims to facilitate data exchange, streamline data and document storage, and enhance the quality of new investment projects.

The platform will aid in attracting additional foreign direct investment into the country by providing the optimal ways to implement investment projects in Kazakhstan.

Overall, the primary objective of the platform is to support the implementation of Kazakhstan’s national investment policies.

The Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) was established in 1976. ADFIAP is a major international business association comprising 90 member institutions in 39 countries, including non-regional members such as Canada, Germany, and France. Its mission is to promote sustainable economic, environmental, and social development and growth in the region.

The EDB has been a member of ADFIAP since 2022. The Bank’s charter capital totals US $7 billion.
